The Routes

Six trails across four days in the Eastern Sierra

Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Eastern Sierra, Mammoth is a place that invites you to slow down, get outside, and spend a little more time together. Pine covered trails wind past alpine lakes, mountain views seem to follow you everywhere, and some of California's most beautiful running and hiking routes begin just minutes from town.

Over four days, we'll explore Mammoth the way we know best, on foot and together. Mornings will be spent running and hiking through places like Lakes Basin and Convict Lake, while afternoons leave time for hot springs, Mammoth Trail Fest, exploring town, or simply recovering back at the house. In the evenings, we'll come back together for chef prepared meals, good conversation, and time with the Laguna Run Club community.

There will be challenging miles, easy miles, big views, cold mornings, tired legs, and plenty of moments where there's nowhere else you'd rather be.

This is our chance to trade the coast for the mountains for a few days and experience everything Mammoth has to offer together.

The Trail Fest village expo, located downtown, opens daily from 12pm–8pm.

Thursday · Day 1 Arrival in Mammoth

Overview

Our weekend begins Thursday morning as we leave Orange County and make our way toward the Eastern Sierra. Before heading into Mammoth, we'll make our first stop at Convict Lake for an easy shakeout run around the lake, surrounded by some of the most iconic mountain views of the weekend.

From there, we'll head into Mammoth and settle into our home for the next few days. For anyone looking for a few extra miles, we'll have an optional evening run on the Uptown Downtown Singletrack Loop before coming back together for our first chef prepared dinner and a look at the adventures ahead.

Friday · Day 2 Inyo Craters & Lower Deadman

Overview

After breakfast together, we'll head out for our first full morning on the trails. Today's adventure takes us through the forests and volcanic landscape surrounding Inyo Craters and Lower Deadman Campground, with separate options for runners and hikers to explore the area at their own pace.

Runners will head deeper into the trails around Lower Deadman, with the freedom to choose their distance and turn back whenever it feels right. Whether you want the full route or a shorter morning in the mountains, the goal is to keep the experience safe, adventurous, and fun. Our hiking group will explore the Inyo Craters Loop before everyone heads back for an afternoon of rest and another chef prepared dinner together that evening.

Note: Mammoth Tenkey starts at 6:45 PM Friday.

Saturday · Day 3 Duck Pass & Pika Lake

Overview

We saved one of Mammoth's most beautiful adventures for our final big day on the trails. After breakfast, we'll head into the Lakes Basin and make our way toward Duck Pass and Pika Lake, passing a collection of alpine lakes surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery of the weekend.

Both runners and hikers will take on the same trail, with the freedom to choose the distance that feels right for them. Those going the full distance will climb toward Duck Pass and Pika Lake before making their way back down through the Lakes Basin. It's a challenging final adventure, but one that rewards every mile with incredible views.

We'll finish the day back at our home in Mammoth, where we'll come together for one last chef prepared dinner and celebrate an unforgettable weekend in the mountains.
